Ocean of Tears (Samudra Air Mata) published by Galeri Foto Jurnalistik Antara is a photographic essay on the aftermath of the December 26th earthquake and Tsunami. The photographs which appear in this book were taken by local journalist/photographers in Indonesia. The book provides first-hand accounts of the devastation and the rebuilding efforts taking place today. Images in this 176-page book are both moving and jarring. Representing a collaborative effort by Indonesian journalists and leading cultural figures to present their story to the world, the book includes essays by Ignas Kleden, Goenawan Mohamad, Mohamad Sobary, and poems by Taufiq Ismail and Debra H. Yatim.
